Q. I have heard about the QLD State Government solar hot water rebate. What are the conditions.
A. The QLD State Government has put in place a rebate of $1000 for pensioners and low income earners and $600 for anybody else. Conditions apply, but it is basically for replacing an electric hot water system, with a solar hot water systems that gets more than 20 REC's.
Q. What is the federal rebate
A. if you are replacing an electric hot water system, with a solar hot water system, then you are entitled to a $1000 rebate, whether or not we install it for you. The rebate is claimed back after your system is installed. As with the QLD State rebate conditions apply.
Q. How long will it take for me to be paid the rebates back.
A. If you have filled out the forms correctly and you meet all the eligibility criteria then you should be paid your rebates within 6-8 weeks.
Q. What is a REC?
A. Every solar hot water system is entitled to a certain amount of REC's (Renewable Energy Certificates) most of the systems we sell receive 31-33. Put simply the power companies must comply with government regulations on the amount of energy they produce from renewable sources. If they cannot meet the target, they must buy REC's to make up the short fall. We give them to you as a point of sale discount and claim them back on your behalf
Q. What is the warranty of your systems?
A. 5 years tank and panels and 2 years parts and labour
Q. Can I install the solar system myself
A. A licensed plumber is the best person for the install. However depending on your local regulations you may be able to do some of the install, to save you money. Check with your local council.
Q. What areas do you sell to?
A. Anywhere in the Eastern states. We have plumbers all over the place that we contract on a regular basis to do install. Give us a call and we will get your system installed.
Q. What does it cost
A. There is no such a thing as a standard install, but it is a lot more affordable than you think.
Q. What happens if something goes wrong.
A. Depending on the system we sell you and if we do the install. But contact us on 1300 722 692 and we will help. Even if you did your own install
Q. Will my solar hot water system produce power for my home.
A. No. The solar hot water systems we sell use the heat from the sun to produce hot water. The solar systems that produce power use a different technology called photovoltaics. They use the light from the sun to produce power. It can get confusing and we would be very happy to explain it to you in depth.
Q. What qualifies your company to sell and install solar hot water systems
A. We get asked this a fair bit. If you are buying solar hot water there are a few things you should ask the company. Do they have there own BSA, are they solar accredited, are they actually the plumbers or just a sales company and are they insured. We have our own BSA, all our boys are solar accredited, we are actually the plumber and we have all our insurances.
